This photograph was
sent by Connie KANGAS who believes this entertainer/magician's name was Nels
Jacob KANGAS or Jack KANGAS and went by the stage name of Jack LANE. It is
believed that Jack was born around 1906 and died after 1951. He was in San
Antonio in 1935 and New York City in 1940.
~ Connie has additional information: "We found someone who knew Jack LANE and
told us that he died
in Mar. 1958 in Camden, New Jersey. Nels Jacob KANGAS went by the name of
Jacob and was born in 1902 in Stanton, Houghton, Michigan. He appeared in a
census and may have been in a TB hospital at 17. I was told by my
mother-in-law that he had TB.
We were told that he was a striking resemblence (in appearance and
voice) to Paul KANGAS of the Nightly Business Report which is really odd -
because so did his son - Roy KANGAS - my father-in-law."
Connie has been
unable to get his death certificate since she must first know who Jack's
parents are. She is looking for his obituary. Can you help? ~
