On the back of this photograph are the words: "LONG on left, GreatGramma,
Elihue's mother." This photo was sent by Wilma who writes that her great
grandfather was Elihu SIMPSON (1859-1893). He married Mary Jane
SAYLOR (1865-?) in Bell County, Kentucky. One of their sons was Wilma's
grandfather, Elihue SIMPSON, born in 1893. In 1910, after Wilma's great
grandfather passed away, Mary Jane married John Calvin LONG.
Could the women in the photo be her grandfather Elihue's mother, Mary Jane and
perhaps, John Calvin LONG's grandmother? Wilma's big mystery is that in spite
of the notation on the back of the photo, no one recognizes these women as
being related to him.
