All of the photographs on this page were contributed by Catherine. Her ancestors came to the United States from County Cork and County Kilkenny, Ireland prior to 1907. Some of the names connected with these photographs are MURPHY, RYAN and KELLEY. |
This sweet child is another one of the mystery children whose photographs Catherine found among her grandmother's Irish family photos. |
This couple MAY be the parents of the mystery children. They are Catherine's great grandparents, James Joseph RYAN, Sr. and Ellen (MURPHY) RYAN. Ellen was born about 1830 in Aughkiletaun, Graig-na-Managh, County Kilkenny, Ireland. She died there about 1880. James RYAN was a doctor and owned land and were considered well-to-do. On the back of this photo are imprinted the words: Joseph KISSANE, Merchant, Main Street, Graig-Na-Managh, County Kilkenny. |
