Lui MAIER
Does anyone know of a MAIER Family
who lived in New York City or its environs at the turn of the century? This
little boy is Lui MAIER (could it be Louis or Ludwig?) and his name has been
written in pencil on the front and back of this photograph.
The photographer was Schloeder
Studios on 1532 - 3rd Ave, near 86th St. At that time, 86th St. was a
predominantly German enclave. This cabinet card was with a large group of
cards left to my family upon the death of my great-aunt Johanna Ahrendt of NYC
and New Jersey in the 1950's. This child is not related to me but could have
been the son of a friend
of my great-aunt.
