This photo was sent by Martin
GRÜNWALD from Matzen, Gänserndorf, Austria. Martin would like to identify the
young man in the photograph. The young woman is Martin's great-grandmother,
Leopoldine GRÜNWALD. The young man is his natural great-grandfather, known
only by his last name, ULRICH. The young man was a Master Baker from Bohemia.
The photograph was taken just before the outbreak of World War I, during which
the young ULRICH was killed.
A son was born to this couple and
became Martin's grandfather. Leopoldine later married a GRÜNWALD and so
continued the name to future generations.
